Who Are We ?
We are family. We are friends. We are neighbors who never forgot.
We are the voices of those who loved Renee Freer and we will never stop fighting for her.
On June 22, 1977, the world lost a bright, joyful, eight-year-old girl whose laughter could light up any room.
Renee’s life was taken far too soon, but her light still shines in the hearts of all who knew her.
For nearly five decades, her loved ones and a growing community of caring hearts have carried her memory, her story, and her spirit. Together, we stand for truth, justice, and the enduring power of love.
This is who we are.
This is Justice for Renee Freer.
Our Promise
We will not be silent. We will not stop. We will honor Renee’s light by shining it into the world through awareness, advocacy and love. We ask you—friends, neighbors and strangers with kind hearts—to join us.
Share Renee’s story. Follow and share our social pages. Stand with us in our fight for justice. Together, we can make sure Renee’s voice is never lost. Together, we can turn tragedy into purpose. Together, we can keep her memory alive….forever.
For Renee….Always…..
Our Team:
Lisa Victoria—
Cousin, Friend, and Founder of “Justice for Renee Freer” Facebook Group
Lisa is Renee’s cousin, but more than that, Renee was her little buddy, her secret keeper, her giggling partner at every family gathering. Their bond was full of laughter, mischief, and love. Losing Renee in such a brutal and heartbreaking way shattered Lisa’s world.
With Renee’s mom and grandparents now gone, Lisa feels a deep obligation to her family to carry on the fight for justice and to keep Renee’s story alive. She is determined to make sure people never forget the little girl they all loved so much….a child whose smile lit up every room and whose spirit continues to inspire all who remember her.
Out of that pain grew purpose, a promise that Renee’s story would never fade. Lisa created Justice for Renee Freer Facebook Group to honor her cousin’s life, to seek justice, and to bring people together to keep her memory alive.
Beth Pisani —
Friend and Lifelong Advocate for Justice
Beth was just 12 years old when Renee was taken. Growing up in Monroe, she was friends with many of the children on Williams Drive and has carried this tragedy in her heart ever since.
Today, Beth channels that lifelong ache into action raising awareness, creating podcasts, and hosting heartfelt events that celebrate Renee’s life. Even from more than 600 miles away, she stays deeply connected to the cause, often joining efforts while traveling the country with her husband as a long-haul truck driver.
Her dedication knows no distance. She reminds the world that Renee mattered, that her story still matters, and that justice must come.
Cindie Dnistrian—
Neighbor, Friend, and Advocate for “Renee’s Law”
Cindie was one of Renee’s childhood friends and neighbors. She was only 13 when she joined others in searching for Renee the night she disappeared. It was a night that forever changed her and left a lasting ache in the hearts of all the “neighbor gang”.
Now living out of state, Cindie remains fiercely dedicated to finding resolution and keeping Renee’s memory alive. She remembers Renee as the social butterfly of Williams Drive — always joyful, always smiling and a friend to all.
For 48 years, Cindie has carried that heartbreak, but also a unwavering determination. She has vowed never to let Renee be forgotten and is helping lead the effort to pass Renee’s Law — a legacy of protection, awareness, and justice for all children.
Tawny Syrotiak—
Best Friend and Keeper of the Last Goodbye
Tawny was Renee’s best friend. The two little girls were classmates and rode the bus together every day, laughing and sharing dreams only children can. On June 22, 1977, Tawny waved goodbye and said, “See you tomorrow.” But tomorrow never came.
That night, she watched from her window as police and firefighters searched the woods for her little friend. The next day, Tawny’s father had the horrific task of telling his young daughter the unthinkable — that her best friend was gone. In that moment, innocence was shattered, and life was forever changed.
Decades later, the memory remains, but so does the love. Tawny stands with us, helping ensure that Renee’s name, light, and spirit live on.
